Fossil Hunting on Haydon Batch

BOOKING OPENING ON THURSDAY 30th APRIL

Join Steve England on a fossil foray on Haydon Batch and learn how the rocks were formed, the history of coal mining, and look at the fossils within the rocks. The prehistoric features that tell a fascinating story!

We will be meeting at Haydon Que Club at 10:00 am and fossil hunting until 12:30 pm.

You must book in advance to attend this session, it books up fast so don’t miss out!

This is a very family friendly event, but please ensure all children have a parent/guardian with them at all times.

What to Bring?

Your hammer, chisel and goggles, if you have available. There will be a few to share for those who don’t.

Please wear sturdy footwear and gloves and bring a notepad, pen and camera to record your findings!

You are welcome to bring a picnic and refreshments to this event, take a break from the fossil hunting and enjoy the surroundings!
