This 2-hectare site made up of an open space, play park, football goals and amernity grassland. It is owned by B&NES Council and located in the south of Midsomer Norton.
The site comprises of grassland and hedgerows including a very large veteran Oak tree and the River Somer which is a tributary of the Wellow Brook.

Future Plans
We’re excited to announce that improvement works will begin at Staddlestones Riverside Park on Monday 8th September lasting approximately 10 weeks.
Unfortunately, due to the recent wet weather, we’ve had to pause works on site. Vehicle movements have started to churn up the ground, so we’ve agreed to suspend any activities requiring vehicle access until conditions improve.
The good news is that the play area fencing will still go ahead next week, as this does not require vehicle access and the materials are already on site.
We are also looking at the possibility of laying the macadam on the paths that are ready, which would allow some progress despite the current weather limitations.
What to Expect During the Works:
- Some entrances and areas of the park will be temporarily closed to ensure public safety
- Clear signage will be in place to guide you around the park
Thank you for your support in helping us create a better, more accessible green space for our community!
A masterplan was created for the site in 2024 working with local people and landscape architects.
This project proposes to:
- Improve entrances and access
- Hedge Laying
- Tree planting
- Grassland management and meadow creation
- Create new accessible pathways around the site
- River improvements
- Provide seating, benches, and picnic areas
- Installing a boules terrain

A short walk from Midsomer Norton Town Centre. There are three entrances to Staddlestones; Cautletts Close and Riverside Gardens via large wheelchair friendly kissing gates and via footbridge from Riverside Walk.

Bus Stop Redlands Terrace. Buses 173 & 174 and WESTLinkSouth.
Not all services run on Sundays, please check bus provider website.
There is free on-street parking on Staddlestones and the surrounding streets.
