Grassland Species Identification Training

Grassland species Identification and surveying techniques training
Rupert and Dawn are expert ecologists, they have run several courses on plant identification and regularly lead botanical meetings for the Bristol Naturalists Society. They will be leading this half-day training aimed at Nature Watch volunteers and local volunteers who would like to learn more about grasses, flowers and meadow species and survey methods.
Rupert and Dawn are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced in plant identification. They will cover training on plant identification, including on grasses, covering the use of keys and field guides (some apps), and an introduction to plant morphology and nomenclature. We will cover survey techniques, including National Vegetation Classification (NVC), rapid assessment techniques and habitat condition assessment.
We’ll meet in Midsomer Norton Town Park and will be based outside for this practical training.
