Somer Valley Rediscovered


The Somer Valley lies to the south of Bath and is within Bath & North East Somerset.
Somer Valley Rediscovered was established in 2020 as a green infrastructure partnership project led by Bath & North East Somerset Council, Wessex Water, Natural England and University of Bath.


The project has dual aims of improving biodiversity whilst better connecting communities to their local greenspaces and landscapes.
Our Vision
To make the Somer Valley an area of high biodiversity, resilient to climate change and where a vibrant and thriving community lives with good mental and physical health due to their strong connection to nature.
Our Aim
- Help re-connect people to their local greenspaces
- Improve the health and wellbeing of the community
- Improve biodiversity
- Build our climate change resilience
Current Projects in the Somer Valley
These projects are currently funded in the Somer Valley.
Greenspaces
Delivering the Greenspaces project in Radstock, Westfield and Midsomer Norton.
The Active Way
We are working closely with The Active Way project.
Avon Wildlife Trust
We are also working closely with the Avon Wildlife Trust’s Next Door Nature project in the Somer Valley.
