SUMMARY:Bat Walk - Heritage Open Days 2023
DESCRIPTION:Join the Somer Valley Rediscovered team and discover the wonderful world of bats in the Somer Valley. Learn about these fascinating creatures and then enjoy a short night-time walk and\, with the use of bat detectors\, see and hear the bats as they emerge and begin to forage. \nOpen to all but\, due to the lateness\, we recommend no children under the age of 8. Wear good walking shoes due to uneven paths and bring a torch. Insect repellent is recommended. \nEarly booking is essential\, as these events sell out quickly. \nEmail: somervalleyrediscovered@bathnes.gov.uk \nWhat3Words: TBC

SUMMARY:Family Nature and Heritage Walk - Somer Valley Walking Festival 2023
DESCRIPTION:A Family Walk which is pram/ buggy/ sling/ carrier friendly and suitable for adventurous little legs\, takes you through Midsomer Norton along the appropriate walking paths through the Town Park and up to the cycle path\, please note there is one quite steep hill here\, which we will climb slowly and carefully. There will be various stops along the way and activities to engage the senses\, such as listening to bird song\, collecting autumn leaves\, picking sticks for wand making\, search and find activity sheet all based around the nature and heritage of the area. We will go as far as Silver Street Nature Reserve before heading back to The Somer Centre Garden\, for two more hours of outdoor fun and play with the SuperPirates. There is a large hall which can be used in wet weather. \nSuperPirates are an energetic team of playworkers and entertainers\, so grownups can chill and enjoy some refreshments while your little ones enjoy some high energy play with bubbles\, inflatables\, dancing\, chasing\, spinning\, rocket rides but with also the space to chill and get onto some crafting such as wand making using sticks we pick from the walk. \nThe Somer Centre has parking\, plenty of space for prams and toilets with changing facilities. Hot drinks will be provided\, please bring everything you need for your little ones for the walk\, including water and snacks. \nThe activities are most suited for toddlers and children up to the age of 7 but families with older kids are also very welcome. \nThis is a completely free event\, but booking is essential. One ticket required per family\, please state how many grown-ups and the ages of each little one on your booking. \nWhat3Words: driven.grow.buying
